Health Care Access Now to Host Black Maternal Health Week Community Event
CINCINNATI — In honor of Black Maternal Health Week’s 10th year as a national movement, Health Care Access Now (HCAN) invites the community to a free, half-day, in-person event in Hamilton County grounded in the theme “Rooted in Justice and Joy.”
The gathering will bring together Community Health Workers (CHWs), CHW supervisors, and pregnant or recently postpartum community members to learn, share experiences, and strengthen support for Black maternal mental health. The event will feature interactive learning with culturally responsive mental health providers, peer discussion, and practical strategies for connecting families to care.
Participants will also celebrate the vital role CHWs play in advancing Black maternal health through recognition, games, giveaways, and peer-selected awards. Lunch will be provided and catered by a Black-owned business.
